5 Things We Loved About Our Event: AI-volution of Culture
4 min read
It was a day of thoughtful discussions about culture and AI led by experts across different industries. We also proudly introduced our latest innovation, Sphere, the world’s first culturally-informed suite of AI tools.
If you haven’t already heard, we held our first event, AI-volution of Culture right in the heart of New York City a few weeks ago. It was a day of thoughtful discussions about culture and AI led by experts across different industries. We also proudly introduced our latest innovation, Sphere, the world’s first culturally-informed suite of AI tools. It was so much fun, and we wanted to share our favorite moments, key learnings and some cool technology with you.
AI Calls the Shots!
This feature was a runaway hit at our event, so play around with it too. Simply select your ‘alcohol base’ and ‘cocktail personality’ and let our AI concoct a cocktail recipe just for you. FYI, signing up for an account, gets you access to Sphere as well!
An Outstanding Lineup of Inspiring Creators, Business Visionaries and Cultural Disrupters
We had the absolute pleasure of having an impressive lineup at AI-volution of Culture. The first half of the day was a deep-dive into building technology and AI for good, and understanding humans, what makes us tick and what brings us joy.

Some of the highlights was listening to Gillian Tett discuss the importance of understanding the creators behind AI tools, and how they are being made, Del Smith opening our eyes to the significance of representation in clinical trials and achiveing health equity through inclusive research, and Jeremiah Lowin explaining the technicalities of different AI models. We also got to hear Maria Garrido discuss the way people across different generations interact with music and their favorite songs, and the elements of good movie storytelling according to Deepa Mehta

The second half of the day delved into integrating AI and brands, the future of culture and branding, and how we can stay ahead of the curve. Conversations included a panel between Oshiya Savur, Kelly-Buchanan Spillers and Eleonore Ogrinz about what makes a “cool” brands, Cécile Beliot-Zind discussing her passion for creating foods for a better future, and David McCandless taking us through a data-driven tour of the universe.

We had a lineup of 25 speakers, so this doesn’t even begin to cover it. We’ll be sharing snippets soon, so look out for that.
Unveiling The Bof Brand Magic Index
In collaboration with The Business of Fashion, BoF’s founder Imran Amed debuted The BoF Brand Magic Index at the event. The Index is powered by our AI models, which are trained on millions of cultural expressions to evaluate content shared by brands and their customers on social media. It then offers a novel, quantifiable and trackable metric to evaluate a brand’s marketing efforts by measuring the distance between brands and their customers. Read more about it here.
